J.R. (Jermaine) Lopez, is an actor, graphic designer, executive producer and web developer based out of Vancouver, B.C. His first job was on X-Men 2 in 2003, as a principle actor. While working with Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and the Director Bryan Singer, J.R. developed an understanding of blockbuster film production. Over the following year, J.R. would go on to learn from Hollywood elite on a daily basis. After landing a few key roles in film, television, commercial modelling and other media projects, J.R. decided to undertake more studies in Graphic Communications.
Evolve Branding started as a freelance design collective, when J.R. Lopez was attending Graphic Communication studies, in 2008. The freelance company would go on to contract out fellow top students, while obtaining clients through friends, family and past employers. While studying at the Art Institute of Vancouver (2008-2012), J.R. began his career while working part-time at several print shops including FedEx Kinko’s, MinuteMan Press, and Glenmore Printing. While working at these companies, many opportunities came in for small to medium graphic design tasks and campaigns. It was during this time J.R. accumulated invaluable print experience, and fast production times for graphic design duties. Several years later, Evolve officially became a firm in 2013. Evolve moved into an office space at 1090 Homer Street, in the heart of Yaletown, Vancouver, B.C.
Over the past 12 years, Evolve has worked with brands such as Telus, Canucks Alumni, United Way, UFC, Re/Max, Ledcor, Dnata, and a wide spectrum of other international brands and concepts. The firm is extremely careful with confidential information on the other large companies it has worked with over the past 12 years. For this reason, Evolve does not display many of the projects undertaken on the website.
J.R. actively studies topics such as User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX), Film Production, Web Development Languages, team building and project management. Now working with some of the best leaders in the world, J.R. has been undertaking studies in Business Administration, Finance and also Investor Relations, on an international level. This means pushing communications to a new level, as well as expanding the brands name in bold new markets in different Countries.
